No Wonder I Feel Slow

I feel slow because, apparently, my masters swim group are the MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE. I just got an e-mail this morning to the effect that:

"Woodlands Masters Swim Team made history last weekend by winning the USMS Long Course National Championship Meet in all three categories (combined, men and women)."

**Blink**

It might be awhile before I get out of the slow lane with these speed demons.

One of the reasons the Kenyans are such good long distance runners is that they run with other Kenyans. You're in very good company, dog.

Stay tuned...

Impressive!!!!

(Personally, I love to swim in the same pool as fast people. You can marvel just watching ...)

Yes, think of all the valuable pointers!

Good bit of perspective, and an effective shout-out to your pool mates.

My masters team came in second - I feel your pain.

Revison - we came in 12th overall but there is a Silver Medal banner at the pool so we took 2nd in something. Anyhow - swimming with a competitive masters team definitely impacts ones perspective. I was stunned not to be the only person left in the water at my last Oly and yet there lots of people behind me.

Sorry to junk up your blog comments but one more thing - your team had 128 swimmers - mine had 11. The next largest team to yours had 44 and then 34.

So my team, with 10% of the swimmers coming in 12th is totally awesome. I just had to say that.

That's awesome. At least you know you're training isn't being wasted.

Fast swimmers were put on this earth to humiliate us, to laugh at us when they see us naked.

The only person I even stand a chance with at my masters pool is the lady with CAF and the bum right arm...and that's on her bad day.

Now THAT is validating. How cool - that speed's gotta be rubbing off on you, right?

Thank God I don't live there

Ah, well - how else will you get faster than to swim with the big fishes, eh?

BTW - have you trained with Bach? Inquiring minds want to know...

Being the slowest in a group of dolphins is far better than being the fastest barge on the river.

I hope you draft off of them... ;-)
