Four days: SHUT THE F*** UP, JOELLE. JUST DO IT.

You know these two--Bob and Jillian, light and dark, sensitive and coarse, good and evil, yin and yang, matter and anti-matter. They are the two halves of the guilty pleasure that is The Biggest Loser.

But last night, we risked the creation of a black hole sufficient to suck down the known universe when matter and anti-matter collided. Bob, in his words, was possessed by Jillian Michaels. He melted down and went "China Syndrome" on Joelle, a contestant that was faking positive outward talk to cover up that she was really quitting on the team.

Check it out:

Bob's meltdown is now my mantra.

Like everyone, I've got my own negative head talk that tempts me to pull back before giving it my all. I can cover it with words, or try to rationalize. But on Sunday, it's time to

SHUT THE F*** UP.

NOT ONE MORE WORD.

JUST DO IT, JOELLE.

JUST DO IT.

THREE . . . TWO . . . ONE . . . GO.

Are you ok with me taking that as my mantra too?

Good luck!

not sure if I agreed with the f bomb so many times. "Go Home" might have been more effective.

wow, i would have broken down in tears way before she did. but i also wouldn't subject myself to being on that show.

i've never seen it; i imagine it's pretty addicting.

regardless, it'll be a good thing to have going through your head right about mile 22...

BTW, Joelle only lost 2 pounds that week, just enough to force a contestant who wanted and needed to be there to half to go home.

I absolutely loved that part, because he was saying EXACTLY what I was thinking...call me a hard ass if you will.

It KILLS me that Jerry had to leave instead of her. :(

some people have an "terminal velocity" mechanism that shuts them off before they go faster than they should; she seems to have a "terminal effort" mechanism that shut her down well before her maximum limit. she even said she just couldn't push herself to the limit like the others. Slacker.

he totally reminds me of spin class satan. That guy is a yeller, and a swearer - he intimidates me into doing better. Sometimes I need that.

I'm amazed they let that be on TV, but I think it's a good thing. Let people know that giving up gets you nowhere.

Also, I watched her breathing - she was not struggling. He was right to get all over her sh*t. sometimes people need a little push to see their potential, and sometimes they need a big angry shove. My defenses are so intricate that i usually need the latter.

Words. words. words. talk. talk. talk. Just F'n do it!

That was awesome & painful at the same time, but I think she needed it. How did it end up? I don't watch much (any) TV these days.

Way to go Bob!!!

People like Joelle who talk the talk but won't walk the walk peeve me off. I have had clients like that. When they do not loose any weight or seem to see improvement and whine all the way through the workout I just would love to go off on them. What is worse, they bad mouth me as a bad trainer because they did not loose any weight.

Hey! Talk to my clients who have lost weight, seen improvements, finished a marathon, or an Ironman.

Thankfully I have ended my sessions with those clients and all of my clients I have now are go-getters.

I like that a lot. A whole lot, actually. You can't get much plainer than "Shut the F@#$ up". I really want that as my mantra too, if you don't mind sharing. I could use that a lot. Like every time I want to eat something with sugar in it.

This is the missing link in the health of our society. It's easy to train people who are self-motivated to train.... how do we bridge the gap for those who have desire, but are NOT self-motivated. I don't have the answers, but I am looking for them.

Bob obviously lost his cool. Whether or not it was a good thing depends on how it impacted Joelle and the others. Time will tell, as they say...
