For the Record

Although I have been accused of going too hard and of overtraining by certain people (ahem, Maria Gratia, **cough cough** Nytro), I would like to note something for the record.

Let it be noted that on this day, I listened to my body. I was beginning the 800 repeat treadmill workout, which is a key session in my marathon prep. The RPE was way too high for the pace and heartrate, and there was a little twinge in my knee every time I got a good push off with a proper stride. Even though Maria Gratia was in the house, (The Best Health Club On The Planet), and even though I have been accused of trying to run through brick walls if I thought there might be a girl watching, I exercised restraint.
I have postponed the workout until tomorrow or next week, and I did some fun stretching and exercises for my owie that I got from the physical therapist.
So there. I listened to my body.
My body also told me that I needed two sausage and cheese kolaches this morning instead of yogurt and granola.
(**Here's a bit of Greyhound trivia. Watch the randomly changing images for about two minutes on the home page of the Greatest Health Club On The Planet and you will eventually see the Greyhound in his natural habitat. Greyhound is a covert fitness model.**)

You may need to up your contributions. They seem to have the girls in the rotation far more than the guys.

And what natural environment... I didn't see a single picture of you in court. Just the one treadmill picture. Do I need to watch longer?

Is Iron Pol complaining about too many pictures of women? That seems odd.

Apparently your natural habitat is standing on a treadmill instead of running on it. :P

For the record (again) they tried an action shot on the treadmill, but my blinding speed could not be clearly captured by the camera.

Hmmm. I think you may have usurped the Bold crush here at Casa de Veeg. ;)

Also: very, very smart move on the 'mill.

Also also: on the kolaches. Mmmm.

well said Veeg.

personally, i've never been given a water bottle by a woman in a health club.

i've been given other things by a woman in a health club... but, that's a story for another time...

Ah! You're famous - great pic & very good call listening to your body on both counts. I seem to have developed selective hearing where mine is concerned... I hear it saying a lot about M&Ms and very little about working out.

they keep flashing to your picture over...and over...random my ass. it's a conspiracy.

good for you for resting and listening to your body. Sometimes it knows. It just knows.

Dog, you are a star!

I know all about listening to the bod'. This weekend my belly just knew it needed a double caffeinated mocha cappuccino from Starbucks. Yummm!

Ooh a fitness model! Do you sign autographs?

What a coincidence-- I also had kolaches for breakfast, though they were potato, egg, and cheese. Mmm. Is there any better breakfast food than a fresh kolache?

i find it best NOT to listen to my body. of course, my body is always telling me to sit on my ass and eat bon-bons while watching friends re-runs. but still...
