We are getting ready to drive the coast highway back to the OC for some quality time with the Kahuna and some adult beverages, so I don't have time for pictures or a proper post. Suffice it to say that while my time was not speedy by any means, and there was much suffering and walking on the inaptly named "run" section of the triathlon, I am nevertheless well and truly pleased with how I have grown in the last year. I stayed in the moment and solved problems for an effective swim. I had a well paced bike and arrived into transition feeling good. The heat and the unrealistic course killed me on the run, but no worries. I was more than an hour faster than last year, but more importantly, more than a century happier and stronger.
More to come.
