There is television coverage every night on Versus. Here is the schedule. While you are "working" there is a beyotchin' website with tour maps, video, live play by play, and a wicked google map that allows you to follow the race in progress. Today's 97 mile stage begins at 11 a.m. Pacific time. Catch it, because we all know . . .
It's all about the bike.
Yesterday, the prologue took me by surprise. It was on Versus (formerly known as OLN), and it was worth the visit. American riders swept the first three spots in the 1.9 mile time trial prologue that finished atop Telegraph Hill in San Francisco. Young American, Jason Donald, smoked the course early, and his time held until Levi Leipheimer edged him by a fraction of a second as the last rider up that day. WOOO HOOO!

Yeah! That was just what the doctor ordered last night! I am kind of hoping to see Bobby Julich pull out something special, but Levi looked super strong on the prologue.
Did anyone else start to get a little annoyed with Phil last night? I mean how many times did he have to say he thought the time keeper screwed up? Poor kid has the best ride of his young career and if someone is taping the coverage for him that kind of ruined it.
Oh well, can't wait for tonight!

Someone on a cycling mailing list I'm on sent an Evite out have people join her to 'watch my boyfriend Ivan Basso ride the time trial in San Francisco". Another woman actually responded with "I can't make it but good luck to Ivan!"
There are some things that inadvertently separate the real cyclists from the ones who just ride a bike.
ps- oogling the pro's wives is NOT one of them ;-)
