IRL: Fun and Games

Trisaratops, in addition to being a wonderful writer, is the teacher that we all wish we had. (Unlike my history teachers, I bet Trisaratops manages not to get bogged down in the age of European exploration, forges past the Stamp Act, and manages to connect historical events to ideas and critical thinking that are vital to her students. But I'm not bitter. Really. I'm.Not.)

In order to break the ice in her new class, Trisaratops played the game where you list two truths and a lie about yourself, and your colleagues try to identify the lie. Inspired by her example, I thought it would be fun to play two truths and a lie in the blogosphere. Here's how it works.
I will list two truths and a lie about myself. You can guess in the comment section; BUT, there is a catch. If you guess, list two truths and a lie on your own blog, so that the game goes on and on, potentially taking the entire backbone of the world wide web offline. AND there is one more catch. I am a tricky little bastard. If you guess at a lie, identify the facts you think are false, and if you correctly do so, you will be entitled to receive astounding greyhound schwag (while supplies last).
So here goes. Identify the lie:
1. I played Carnegie Hall before I was 25 years old.
2. I have been married to Mrs. Greyhound, my highschool sweetheart, since 1989.
3. I argued a supreme court case before I was 35 years old.
Good luck.

Awwwwwwww can't you make it an easier game...:-(

Far be it from me to question your talent so I'm going with the lie being how long you've been married.

I won't be able to play until later this afternoon but if I'm correct I want the schwag so I'm posting now. Stay tuned...

I haven't been reading your blog very long, but I like free stuff, so I'll play. I will follow 21st Century Mom and say that #2 is false but not because I doubt the length of your marriage but rather that Ms. Greyhound wasn't your high school sweetheart... Not that I have any real reason to think this is a lie, but I gotta post something different :-)

I'm a new reader too, but I think #2 is correct...so I am going to say #3 is not the truth.

Fun!

I bet you argued before a supreme court before you were 30 years old!

Number two is true (see previous posts).

In 2004, you argued a case before the Supreme Court, the only one I was able to find. You seem to spend a lot of time in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.

I was unable to find anything about Carnegie Hall, but with a music degree from UW Wisconsin, it isn't a stretch.

I deem you argued your first Supreme Court Case when you were 37, making 35 a lie.

Methinks someone knows you as more than just "Greyhound" :-) Googling "greyhound" and "supreme court" sure as heck doesn't yield much useful... Or maybe IP just divined all that from your blog entries :-)

I know only what Greyhound allows us to glimpse. It is all about putting the pieces together. It's like CSI Blogland.

Oh, the irony...to think, this is actually a drinking game I used to play in college, which very often turned dirty....

OK, I'm gonna have to guess you married Mrs. Greyhound earlier than 1989. Am I right? :)

Dude, you've argued a case at the SC? I'm not worthy...I'm not worthy...will bow to you in WI.

And I so talked about the damn Stamp Act TODAY, BTW. BORING. But I swear did something funny with it--remind me to tell you in WI.

I'm with IronPol. He and I have the same answer only he was first. You've been married 17 years and U of WI has a first rate student symphony/music department so playing Carnagie while in college is a probability. Then later you argued a case for Aetna in the summer of 2004. You were probably 37 or 38 years old at that time. So unless you argued a case before the Supreme Court before 2004 it can be said with almost certainty that #3 is the lie.

Now the only thing to do is to come up with three questions of my own.

Stay tuned...

ah... the true stalkers now emerge. does this not scare you even a teensy bit, greyhound?

No, Nytro. Only you scare me.

I vote for #2

We haven't even started in on Nytro. Should we?

After brief consideration of her post "Say Aye..." on May 18, 2006, I've decided to let it go. While Benny has a modicum of protection (he does, after all, cut the lawn and change flat tires), I do not.

Perhaps we should just call him at work, ask him, and then post the answer. Otherwise, I'm going to have to find him in Madison and get Tri-Mama to tickle the answer out of him.
