Vacationing in Middle Earth

In addition to my wee tribe, two additional tribes of triathletes traveled to the Pacific Northwest after Ironman CdA. It was like no land I have ever seen, except in fiction: Rocky crags, misty mountains, golden meadows, deer, and hobbit like kids hiking in the woods. Here are a very few images from the trip, and a profound thanks to some of the best friends I have ever known. Your example makes me a better me.

Lovely - I recognize those shots taken at the top of Mt. Constitution. Next time I go I'm taking my bike and riding to the top (is it wrong that that's how I think of it now instead of remembering the specatular view?)

I hope you all got to San Juan Island and went to the sculpture garden and got a pic in the mirror and I hope you did the July 4th parade on Orcas. More pics! More pics!

Very sad that we missed you up here in the Northwest, but so glad you enjoyed it. See what we've been saying about how wonderful it is?! Come back soon so we can treat you to some more scenery north of the 49th!

Great pics! We had a blast hanging with your tribe in Orcas - LOVED IT!
I'll get my pics up soon - working on a project for a friend right now, but as soon as I load them up I will share them.

Totally beautiful!

I had a wonderful time a few years ago riding the Seattle to Portland bike ride and then last year running the Hood to Coast Relay.

It is really the forest primeval!

Glad you had a spectacular time.

There have been too few accounts of this vacation and there are things I NEED to know.

1). Did you go to the 4th of July Parade on Orcas?
2). Did you go to Olga days on Orcas?
3). Did you go to the sculpture garden on San Juan? If so did you take a pic in the mirror?
4). Did you got to the sunset ceremony in Roche Harbor?

I made mention of all these things and yet I don't know if you guys did any of them. Do tell! More pics!
